Scene ~ Carly and AJ at the PH, after Carly's paternity lie Carly: You think you know just about everything about me, don't you?
AJ: Yeah, well. I know enough
Carly: Did you know I had a relationship with Jason long before I even met you?
AJ: Look, if Jason's niave enough to be your friend that's his problem.
Carly: I didn't say friend! I said relationship, with everything that implies.
AJ: Oh, wow. I gotta give you credit. You always seem to make your current lie sound so convincing. Only this time, you picked the wrong guy to back you up, babe. Jason won't lie for you. He doesn't know how.
Carly: Look, if you think he's gonna take your side against me, you might as well leave right now, cuz you're wasting your time.
AJ: Well, I have a newsflash. I'm done listening to you. Like I said, Jason shows up, I'll ask him if he's the father of your baby. And we both know what he'll say.
Carly: AJ, look. I realize this is a shock to you. It's something you never heard before. But Jason and I have been close since I first moved to Port Charles.
AJ: Yeah, well. You got a really great view from here. You can see all the way to the lake.
Carly: We first met at Jakes when he was living there. We played pool a coupla times. We flirted, we danced. And then one day he asked me to go up to his room with him, and I went. That was that. No names, no questions, no-
AJ: You know, the decor's a little dark, for my taste. But I'm sure Jason doesn't even notice-
Carly: We decided that names would only complicate things. And neither one of us wanted to screw up what we had. So we continued to have sex, anonymously. The thing that was really great about your brother is he's one of those talented guys that a woman doesn't ever forget.
AJ: Yeah, uh, so tell me. Does his entire organization live in this building or are the older ones allowed to move off campus?
Carly: The greatest thing about it was that Jason actually turned out to be a better friend than he even was a lover. He is loyal, he is kind. And he doesn't judge people like everybody else in this town.
AJ: I was your friend to! And you know what? When he finds out what you did to me, he's gonna get rid of you just like I did.
Carly: Oh, god, AJ. He knows!
AJ: What? That you made love to- I'm sorry. Had sex with me, as you prefer to call it. With me and Tony on the same night? And that you did everything in your power to keep me from remembering it?
Carly: Everything.
AJ: And that you drugged me, so that I would think that I fell off the wagon?
Carly: He knows everything AJ. And he does not care! So why don't you get outta here and leave me and my baby alone?
Jason: (comes in the PH door) What's going on?

Jason: What are you doing here?
AJ: Looking for the truth. I need to speak to you in private. Just you and me.
Jason: (to Carly) Can you wait upstairs? (she nods and exits)
AJ: Alright, look. I know that you and Carly are friends. I don't have a problem with that. But believe me, Jason. You don't know her like I do.
Jason: You're right. I know her better than you do.
AJ: Carly has an incredible knack for getting people on her side. She lies, cries, and the next thing you know, you're defending her. She's strictly out for herself, and helping her only hurts people in the end.
Jason: I know you're trying to make a point. But I quite don't get it yet.
AJ: Dad seems to think you're the father of Carly's baby.
Jason: And?
AJ: I'm sure she told you that she and Tony broke up. And he's filing for custody, and she's probably asked you to protect her baby from him. But Tony isn't the father, I am.
Jason: You have proof?
AJ: As soon as the baby's born, yes. I will.
Jason: And then what?
AJ: If the baby turns out to be mine, then I will do whatever I have to to get sole custody. I know that you think that you're helping. But there's nothing that you can do, believe me. The situation is what it is, so why don't you just get out of the way?

AJ: Eight months ago, Carly and I had sex in your room. We were both drunk. It took me months to even remember it. When I did, she did everything she could to trick me into thinking this baby was due in December so that I wouldn't think that it was mine. Then when it came out that the baby was due in January, I realized that I could be the baby's father just as easily as Tony.
Jason: Because she had sex with him the same night.
AJ: She told you.
Jason: Yeah.
AJ: Did she also tell me that she drugged me, set me up to think that I had lost my sobriety, so that I would leave town, and spend months in some rehab center?
Jason: She told me that too.
AJ: Well, it didn't stop there, Jason. She poured a bottle of booze all over me, dumped me in an alley, left me unconcious, then called mom and dad to come pick me up.
Jason: Did you tell them the truth?
AJ: It took me months of torture to even figure the whole thing out. Yes, eventually, I told mom, but I haven't told the rest of the family.
Jason: Why not?
AJ: Because I thought I was protecting Carly's baby.
Jason: AJ, that was your choice. You can't blame Carly for that.
AJ: I don't get it. Why do you seem like you don't care?
Jason: I don't agree with what she did. It was stupid and desperate. But now it's over. When it comes to her baby no one can tell her what to do.
AJ: You don't get it, man. Everyone that comes in contact with Carly gets hurt. Including Emily. That's right, she almost lost it when she thought that I fell off the wagon. Carly is dangerous. And helping her is a big mistake, Jason.
Jason: If someone's bleeding on the ground, do you help them right away? Or do you first find out if everthing they've done in the last few months meets with your approval? That's what it's like for me and Carly. She needs help, and I'm going to give it to her.
AJ: Alright, look. I know you don't want to be judgemental. And I admire that. But Jason there is such a thing as right and wrong, and Carly continually crosses that line.
Jason: That's fine. But now she's fighting for her kid. And you just said if it's yours, you'll do whatever it takes to take it away from her.
AJ: I'm not gonna drug someone. Or lie. And trying to convince people that you're the father of her baby is just another in a long list of her lies. Man, she's using you and you're falling for it.
Jason: AJ, I know what Carly's doing. I told her she could.
AJ: Alright, look. This baby is either mine or it's Tony's. Why can't you accept that?
Jason: Because I don't agree with that.
AJ: What do you mean you don't agree-? Are you telling me that you could actually be the father of this baby? Give it to me straight Jason. Are you the father of Carly's baby?
Jason: Well, if you're asking-
AJ: Did you sleep with her?
Jason: Yeah.
AJ: You know she told me a story that the two of you had sex for months without knowing each other's names. And I... I thought that was another lie.
Jason: Well, that was true.
AJ: Really. So this whole time that, Carly's been involved with Tony, you and she-
Jason: You got what you came for. I'm not answering any more questions.
AJ: No, wait a minute. You don't drop a bomb like that and then walk away from me. So what you're telling me is that you cheated on Robin to have cheap meaningless sex with Carly?
Jason: What happened with Carly had nothing to do with Robin.
AJ: Really. I wonder if Robin would think the same thing.
Jason: You better leave Robin out of this.
AJ: Alright, then what about Tony? Are you telling me that you honestly believe that having sex with Carly had nothing to do with the man she was planning to marry?
Jason: I know it didn't.
AJ: You know, ever since- ever since your accident, the one I caused. I've felt guilty for what happened to you. But where you are right now, I'm not gonna take the blame for that.
Jason: Are you finished?
AJ: No. Sonny turned you into a gangster. You rejected your own family. But you know what? None of that mattered to me, because deep down I knew you had a good heart. I was wrong. I was wrong because your heart is as cold as your eyes.
Jason: That's about it.
AJ: The only reason I came here was because I knew you'd tell me the truth. Like I said, ever since that accident, I've been carrying around the past for the both of us. But today, I finally met the real Jason Morgan. And you're not a part of the past at all. You're nothing but a self-absorbed man who has no regard for anyone but himself, man.
Jason: Well, if I said anything that finally made you realize that I'm not Jason Quartermaine-
AJ: You've done more than that, man. You've convinced me that if you are the father of Carly's baby, I'm not gonna let you anywhere near it.
