Scene ~ Jakes; while Carly was marrying AJ Jason: So, I uh, I brought Michael home. And raised him.
Hannah: For how long?
Jason: Over a year.
Hannah: And now this little shrew turns against you and acts like you were to blame even though she wanted you to do those things in the first place?
Jason: See, Carly's like that.
Hannah: Why do you have to put up with her at all?
Jason: Hannah, it's the only way I've ever known her. So what's the point of being upset at her for acting like she always does?
Hannah: Because she owes it to you to treat you better. After everything you've done for her.
Jason: She has, she has treated me better. Has anyone ever mentioned to you that I was in an accident? Alright, well... It happened a couple years ago. According to the doctors there was a lot of braindamage. You can't really tell now. But when I first met Carly, it was like I didn't know anything. Nothing. But Carly didn't care. And everyone one else around me wanted me to be this way... The Quartermaines wanted me to be that way. But Carly just took me the way I was. And that's how I've always taken her. Yes, she is a liar. She is a manipulator. And every so often she does something to wreck her life. But she is also brave and strong, and she is not afraid to fight. And a couple of times I really needed her, she came through.
Hannah: Like that day on the docks. (when Carly took the drugs Jason had found planted in the warehouse and flushed them)
Jason: Exactly. Exactly like that day on the docks. Now, see. Sonny would have said I was insane to trust Carly with something so potentially incriminating. But I knew she would do exactly what I needed her to do. Just like Carly knew, when she came to my house, and asked me to be Michael's father. I don't know, you know. When the situation gets desperate, we know that we can count on each other. Now that's worth something to me. Maybe it's even worth all the crap she puts me through.

(after Hannah leaves, Jason's playing pool all by himself)
Jake: For you.
Jason: Mmm. (he pulls some money out of his pocket to hand it to her)
Jake: Ah, forget about it. You're the best tenant I ever had. It's on the house.
Jason: Thanks, Jake.
Jake: You haven't lost it. I remember all the hours you'd spent playing. You and that girlfriend of yours. The blond, who used to try to get all the guys to fight over her? (he nods at the description) She even moved in with you for awhile, didn't she?
Jason: Yeah.
Jake: Whatever happened to her?
Jason: She's around. (he makes that face that means he doesn't want to talk about it and returns his attention to the pool table)
