Scene ~ Q rose garden, nighttime Jason: I am glad you're awake. Did you know I was gonna be here? Hmm? You see that light in that window? Huh? That's your room. Anybody looking out can see us right now. So the next time you look out that window you can see right where we are. (pause) Um, it's nice here, huh? It's quiet. Grandmother's gonna teach you all about these roses when you get older. She loves you, Michael. A lot of people love you. You're starting to like it here, aren't you?
Michael, I- I need to tell you something. And it's really important. Okay? You need to understand... That I'll always... I'll always be your father. And you'll always be my son. But I can't do this anymore, Michael. I- (long pause) I can't- I can't come to see you. We can't go feed the ducks. You can't come to your- (sigh) Where I live. Anymore. Fighting- Fighting with AJ is wrong. Oh, man. The way I fight with him is so wrong. I don't want you to grow up with that. Especially with your mom in the middle. And the only way to stop the fighting is (sniff) to leave. But not because of you. Not because of anything you did. It's because of me. I can't- I can't be in your life and I thought I could.
You remember Robin, would tell us about the gaurdian angels? Hmm? Well, I'll be that for you. I'll be looking out for you all the time. But you won't see me.
