Scene ~ Sonny's PH, Carly pokes her head inside the front door
Jason: It's okay. Just keep your voice down. He's upstairs.
Carly: How is he? Jason: He's getting better. (he pours some water into a glass) What are you doing here? Carly: I just, ah, wanted to come and make sure everything was okay. What can I do? Jason: You've already done a lot. Besides, being here, with him, like this. It's easier if it's just me. Sonny's not used to you. Carly: Hmm. Jason: Look, I know... Last night, must have been hard. Sticking it out. Carly: (smiles) I was definitely happy to see you. But I know that it's hard for you too. (She looks at him for a moment, looks at his hands, and takes hold of them. Then she looks into his eyes seriously.) Look - I just want you to know. You're not in this alone, okay?* * * * *
Carly: You know, you pick up the pieces for Sonny, and for me. Who picks them up for you? Jason: I'm fine. Carly: Jason. Two months ago you had a completely different life. You lost a lot. Why did you come back? Jason: (sighs) There are people who need me here. Carly: Sonny? Jason: (shakes his head once) Not just him. Carly: No. (starts to smile a little) Not just him. And what about you? Hmm? Do you need anyone? Jason: (pause) So the Quartermaine's give you any trouble for being here last night? Carly: (smiles, and decides to let him avoid answering her question) Well. I didn't lie as well as I usually do. I don't care, really. I mean, because some things are too important to lie about. And that's probably why you don't like to do it. Jason: That's right. (she chuckles) Well, look. (she gets this 'I'm being dismissed again' look on her face) Everything's going to be okay here. Thank you for stopping by. C'mon. (he puts his arm out to lead her to the door, and they exit to the elevators) Do you need any cab money? Carly: You keep doing that! Hey, Jase? Thank you. But I can take care of myself. (he holds out the money, and she takes it without hesitation) Okay, if you insist. Jason: Thanks again, for helping Sonny.(She smiles and blows a kiss at him, before stepping onto the elevator. The doors close with her counting the money.)
