Scene ~ Sonny's PH, after they decided to leave town with Michael Jason: I've never gone away before. I was always the one who stayed behind. You know, when Robin left for Paris and Sonny was gone, I was totally alone. I slept on the couch, ate in the kitchen, and everyday was like the one I had before.
Carly: Yeah.
Jason: Until the night you showed up. (she laughs) Oh. (she laughs again) I remember you said you had done something that I wasn't gonna like. I was thinking, 'Oh, this- This- This woman has killed somebody and I'm gonna have to get rid of the body.' Instead you asked for a place to stay. And to tell people that I'm Michael's father. When I said yes, I didn't realize that it would change my life.
Carly: Yeah.
Jason: I didn't know that saying I was Michael's father would mean - being his father. And I am.
Carly: Yeah.
Jason: Before Emily's brother, before Sonny's friend, before anything - I think about Michael. And he has a right to grow up not with the Quartermaines. And he has a right to have a mother who's not afraid all the time. I will miss my life here. But if it's what Michael needs, I can leave and not look back.
Carly: You know, when I showed up here, I was all wet, like a rat? That's because I left Tony's office without my coat. I was pregnant. I had no money. I had virtually no chance of keeping my child. But in the midst of it all, you know, I knew I had somewhere to go. I ran here, Jason - 17 blocks, in the rain - because I knew you wouldn't turn me out. Thank you. You are the best.
